Top 7 New Year's Resolutions for 2014

 Is That So Calvin?

Spend More Time with Family and Friends. I know that is what you are probably doing now because of the holidays, but try to see if you can carry this farther than New Years Day. Technology has made us lazy and has contributed to a decline in quality relationships but you may not notice with the false sense of connection that social networking gives us. Log off Skype and Facebook and go make your relationships worth wild.

Enjoy Life. We do not make the most out of our time here on Earth. There’s an ample amount of things to do and the limited amount of time. Most people do not have a decent work/life balance and I am urging all of you to change that for 2014. Research some recreational activities like local tourist attractions. I can bet that you don’t even know your own city.

Make Home Improvements. Introduce space savers or remodeling into your home. New paint is a great way to chance the scenery without having to go anywhere. People feel good when their home makes them feel welcomed.

Save Money. If you have little debt or none at all, then start looking to ways to save money. The way we invest our money is continuing to evolve so take advantage NOW.

Pick Up a Book and Read. Technology has changed they way we read. They say that physical books and magazines are a thing of the past but I disagree. I cherish a good old book and I love reading the old fashion way. It tests my concentration amongst other things.  Do something different. Its okay to go against the grain sometimes. Change isn’t always good. Keep books alive.

Consolidate Debt. I know this may be harder to control but we have to start somewhere. Start paying off those loans by putting some money aside. Set a realistic but ambitious deadline to pay off your debt and get to work.

Volunteer in Your Community. If not us then Who? Charity work and social responsibility is very important. Those that contribute to make a difference control the outcome of what goes on in society. Hundreds of thousands of people are in need. Right now, there are people who are hungry, and cold and it is tough to see people, especially small children, suffering during the holidays. Take a step back and observe the struggle that goes on around you. Now, try to imagine those who life is this "struggle" 365 days of a year.  Make a difference and contribute what you can to make someone’s day a blessed one.
